The Cheboygan Crib Light sits at the west pierhead of the mouth of the Cheboygan River into Lake Huron. It was orginally established in 1884 offshore on a "crib," an artifical island landfill. However, the octagonal cast-iron structure was later moved to the west pier in Cheboygan City Park. With no keeper's station, the Crib Light is called a "light" rather than a "lighthouse".
